RIP Richard
I have just found out that Richard Carlson sadly died on Wednesday 13th December from a cardiac arrest. <br /><br />His books, especially his new one"Don't Get Scrooged" have had a profound effect on me. I am not religious myself but through his works I have been able to tap into my own personal sprituality.<br /><br />His passing is incredibly sad news but I hope it will emphasise his true message of"Don't Sweat the Small Stuff", because life really is too short.<br /><br />I recommend this and all his books to anyone wanting accessible spirtual advice.It is a terrible shame that Richard will not be able to put the wonderful advice he gives about the hoilday season into practice this Christmas.23

Good for practice
Although this book offers plenty of practise on the different types of question, I came accross several definite errors in the answer section (I got out my calculator and checked to be sure). There are few things more annoying than errors in books that are supposed to test you, and that was discouraging. Otherwise a good all-round introduction24

Great Introduction to NLP
I bought this book for something to read on a flight because it looked interesting and I am so glad I did.<br /><br />I've come accross NLP in texts before but never read any books desginated to it. It is also a very complicated subject and so most books written by the experts seem a bit tedious to read as a beginner.<br /><br />This book is a fantastic way to achieve a good understanding of NLP and to apply some of the techniques on yourself.<br /><br />One word of advice...self help books are not designed for"sad losers" as most people may think, but a way to improve on yourself so you can achieve your goals and desires. Most rich successful people have coaches/mentors and this type of book is along the same lines.<br /><br />Thoroughly enjoyed it and has now made me eager to go on and read more about NLP.25

an open mind
I read this book with an open mind, as a lot of reviews slam the book. I wasn't sure how far this went in terms of inspiration of the mind. I was a little unhappy when I found that it was more to do with reframing your mind, as that would give you an altered state, you would become a different person, maybe a little like self brainwashing. I decided against putting some of the things to use, as I want to keep my mindset that I already have, thank you. Still plenty to feed your mind though.27

This book really is well written, and perfect for a teenager. Sean Covey has got it spot on, and it actually works. Its very easy to read, and also very enjoyable. I have recommended it to many friends, and they have taken a lot form it. This beek also makes a perfect gift. None of us seem to have much"life-management" in this day and age, so this beek can really change a person for the better, whilst they are in their youth. Its good to see that the writing skills were passed down in Stephen Covery's family.28

I bought this, and its partner,"Brilliant Answers To Interview Questions", when I was leaving University. I only had time to skim both books and dip in and out, before an interview I had. I've passed every interview I've had, since having these books (even when I've not looked at the books in ages, I've remembered what I read before).<br /><br />I lent them to a friend, he got the job he went for. He liked them so much he bought his own copies, and lent them to a mutual friend of ours. She got the jobs she went for too. I lent my copy to my brother, who like me, dipped in and out - he got his job (the first one he'd ever interviewed for, and straight out of Uni).<br /><br />So pretty good success rate!32

The perfect present
I love this book. I have read it about a million times and I still find it really inspiring. I have bought a copy for all my friends. It makes me think that one day I could start up a business and make it a big success too. I probably won't but it is nice to dream! I also really like Rachel Bridge's other book My Big Idea. Sound financial advice, but a bit repetitive
This book uses parables to sell it's own methodology on how to attain great wealth, but this book is not a get rich quick scheme - in fact far from it. This book teaches you how to grow wealthy over time utilising the income you are currently on, and I don't doubt that if the principles in this book are applied with dedication and conviction then that is exactly what will happen - you will grow wealthy.<br /><br />In a nutshell this book teaches sound financial planning and shows that with a little bit of preparation and commitment practically anyone can enjoy a wealthy existence. It's a good book but does tend to repeat itself a lot, which I guess is the nature of parables - telling the same underlying story in many different ways to get the point across. This book will only be of value if you intend to use the advice it gives, and if you do heed the advice it could be the most valuable book you'll ever own.
