The indespensable Helper
It is a Exactly what it says & a lot more beside.<br />In Chapter 1. You are given a Introduction"To the Skin" It goes on to tell you about it's Functions, Components & Structure, Layers.<br />Chapter 2. Deals with Product Penetration. Chapter 3.Addresses Skin Types & conditions.<br />Then in Chapter 4. You are given a very useful Definition of Terms.<br /><br />In Part 2. You get An Introduction to Cosmetic Ingredients The author goes into Labeling Regulations. ( They are American NOT British)<br />But please do not let this put you off the book.)<br /><br />After this Their are 248 pages some have as many as 10 listings, In Alphabetical order on every conceivable cosmetic ingredient.<br /><br />They finnalise the book with a Appendix of Botanical/Latin Names.<br />I was expecting just the Listings in Alphabetical order. WICH I GOT but I also got a Profound Mini Education In all of the above.<br />In My Oppion This Author shows amazing Dedication & a real Caer for The Public as a whole in passing on her Knowledge.<br /><br />Fantastic value for money & a invaluable Education for all Cottage Industry Cosmetic & Toiletry Crafter's.<br />Gillian Evans. Facercise worked wonders for me!
This is far out the best book about facial exercises available. I had bought several other before I learnt about Facercise. Carole Maggio really gives the answer how to most effectively slow down aging and tone up your face. <br />I have been doing all exercises on a daily routine since 3-4 months now. It is fun doing and the results are amazing! I really worked out 10 years (at least!) off. Besides that I managed to change some features I was less content about. So did I make my lips fuller and did I get more symetrie in my face. For men I recommend ALSO Carole Maggio's book Facebuilder for Men. It stresses on exercises that target the characteristic male features. <br /><br />67

truely amazing
This book is fantastic, a good read, I very rarely wear make up, and am a bit of a perfectionist when i do something, problem was i had loads of makeup but didn't know how to apply it. So after searching long and hard I decided to get the Iman book, and boy was it a really insightful book.<br />It gave me the basics of cleansing, toning and moisturising and for my skin type (as well as many other types). It also suggested makeup ranges/types to buy (Iman, Mac, prescriptives).And Which Foundations(and other makeup) to choose for your skin type and colour, furthermore what tools to have to apply the makeup as this makes a great difference).<br />After all of this it gave a very clear step by step guide(written and illustrated) of how to apply the make up e.g. blending techniques,keeping the makeup in place on your face (for my oily T zone) and different looks for different events and times in the day. The illustrations are great to look at,and very inspirational.<br />Also I was impressed that it gave different looks for different ages.<br />I Have copied these looks and look very natural but very different, because i have learnt so much i have adapted this information to my own style, and am very happy.70

A lovely book
It is a wonderfull book, with recepies from the simple glycerin soap, to the more complex"real" soaps. It focuses on organic and natural soaps, and gives ideas on how to achieve this. The only negative thing I have to say about it, is that it does not cover the basics on how to make liquid soaps. It just says: Liquid soap base. Here in Norway, this is not readily available, and thus a bit frustrating.71

This book is such a little cutie!
This book is pocket-sized but is a hard back. For the price I have certainly got my monies woth form it. I use it for display in my nail salon letting all customers view it to see an example of just what can be done on their nails.It's a lovely little book that is very useful to help students practise nailart designs.

A good guide for beginners
As a"home crafter" of my own cosmetic products, and a beginner at making perfumes, this book has provided me with just the right level of knowledge. The author, Nancy M. Booth, is clearly very enthusiastic about her subject - which comes across along with all of the practical information. The book includes recipes to make at home. I've tried a few of them and was thrilled to find that the very first one, which I made up in a base of jojoba oil, actually lasted all day!75

OK information but not the best way to get rid of spots.
Another 'acne' book that focuses on getting rid of acne from the outside. Whilst Dubrow agrees that it is important to have a good diet and to take in vitamins he is not committed to saying how much of an effect diet really has on skin, he therefore errs on the safe medical side and promotes chemicals to put on your skin instead. <br />I did find parts of this book helpful but it does not contain a long-term solution to those wishing to achieve healthy skin.<br />I suffered from bad acne for years until I found out that I was intolerant to dairy. As soon as I stopped drinking milk and eating anything containing dairy my skin immediately cleared up. There is no mention of being dairy intolerant in this book therefore this book would not have helped me.77

This is a really good book for more advanced soapmaking and contains clear explanantions of ingredients and their role in the process. Also lots of extra information about recipe formulation, troubleshooting, and a pretty good saponification table.79
