My mum bought this book when she was on holiday in America, and found it to be very informative. i could not put the book down it is a very much awaited book for black people with problem skin. I just felt the author was writing about me when she was explaining skin problems and how to avoid it. I have recommended this book to all my friends, and would not think twice about giving it as a present to someone close with a skin problem. It is a must book for every black person male or female.

Technically excellent and comprehensive - essential reading

At last, an up to date and comprehensive book for this important part of hairdressing. I found the book to be technically excellent. It covers the essential things that the barber or hairdresser wishing to work on men needs to know. It was interesting to read and is clear and concise. There are loads of step by step colour photographs, which made learning from the book easy. The work included from top hairdresers is superb and shows what can be done in men's hairdressing. Inspirational stuff!

WHEN I FIRST SET MY EYES UPON THIS BOOK, IT WAS AS THOUGH I HAD OPENED THE 'HOLY GRAIL' TO BLACK HAIR. THE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND THE TEACHING METHODS HAVE CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS TO FOLLOW. I JUST THOUGHT, WOW!!!, EVERY WOMAN OF COLOUR NEEDS TO HAVE ONE OF THESE. I APPRECIATE ALL THE SECTIONS FROM NATURAL TEXTURES TO RELAXER TECHNIQUES TO LOC AND BRAID STYLES. AS FOR THE WEAVE ,BOND AND COLOUR SECTION, WOW!!!. THANK YOU SANDRA GITTENS, AND ALL WHO HELPED INSPIRE SUCH A WONDERFUL BOOK. P.S.
