brilliant

This is the second book of the series, and as ever is fantastic. The book is slighty more advanced than the first is is packed full of very useful and help step by step tips. There are sections all about chocolate, embroidery, making flowers, recipes, runouts, figure piping, bas relief, marzipan....I could go on because the techniques are endless. A must have for a cake maker or someone who just wants to try different methods and styles.

Great Fun

I love this little book and have noticed there is another one in the Egyptian series. :-)<br /><br />It's great fun for adults and children alike. I actually bought this for making my own stationary, and I've had fun doing it.<br />

Excellent

Purchasing this book was money well spent. It is extremely comprehensive covering all aspects of floristry in easy to follow steps. I found both the modern and traditional designs extremely well illustrated and they were easily understood. This book is a must buy for anyone and everyone who is interested in floristry, whether or not they are in the profession!

10 out of 32 ain't bad

This book would be great for kids. I bought it as a stress reliever for my husband. We had fun trying to make some of the designs but we did find some mistakes in the directions. I'm not sure a child would have been able to figure those mistakes out alone. He'd need an adult to help. There are 32 designs, but only about 10 of those truly make you feel accomplished when you finish making them and are"interesting" to look at when you are done. But 10 out of 32 ain't bad, is it?

Good inspiration

I bought this book as a beginner and found it full of great inspiration, even some of my more experienced friends want to borrow it to try some new designs. The only disappointing thing is that by the end lots of them are just different colour combinations and it doesn't give you any idea how much wool you'll need, but i'm glad i bought it.

Enter the"Treehouse Zone"!

Buy this book and build a really great treehouse. I built a super-cool"one tree" treehouse last summer using this book and not only did I find it extraordinarily instructive on the actual"how to," I also found myself drawn into what I came to call the"treehouse zone" that David and Jeanie Stiles create. This book has several great plans that you can easily adapt to your own tree, plus tons of wonderful"extras" that put it over the top. This summer I put on a second storey, though I didn't have the book available; I was able to go on what I had built before under it's guidance. Please, come join me in the Treehouse Zone.

Colourful inspiration for all levels of ability

Certainly a book full of inspiration with good, clear instructions and photographs of different stages of flower construction. For the beginner, a good book to progress through from the easier flowers to the more complex. For the experienced, a good reference for new ways of making old favourites and some extra flowers not seen in other publications. Some of the cutters are difficult to get hold of though as they have been made specifically for the author and there are some designs which I felt were easier to do with methods in other books (eg. carnations). Overall, a good source of ideas and a different approach that will no doubt stir the imagination of cake decorators everywhere.

Great for the beginner

I class myself as a beginner in the sewing world . This is a great book for someone who is an absolute beginner but surprisingly was too basic for me . Very clearly laid out. Recommended for those who can sew a straight line but sew little else.

Fashion Now - Why you should buy it.

Fashion Now, attracted me because it has been put together by the team behind I-D magazine, which i already read religiously and love.
The book gives the reader an in-depth and and down to earth view in to the world and motivation driving each designer. It documents not only famous faces such as Donnatella Versace and Jean-Paul Gaultier, but less well known designers who have only been in the business a few years.
This book is an invaluble read for anyone who is interested in the fashion industry and wants more information about the up and comming stars and their ideas.
In addition, the book is put together wondefully, the layout and colour all help to make this a really modern book that reflects and compliments its content.

this is an excellent book for a beginner I used it a lot and have now loaned this book to a friend who is new to quilting the only trouble I have is getting it back .

Simply fantastic

Blake was a visionary and a genius, a man who truly saw angels walking among men, and a man in whose powerful imagination London became Jerusalem. Blake was one of the most interesting characters of the 18th and 19th centuries, and lived in some of the most tumultuous times of the last thousand years. To truly appreciate Blake, you need to be able to see his illustrations along with his poetry, for Blake was not only a poet, he was also an artist. As I am studying Blake in my English class I can tell you that this is an incredibly worthwhile edition. The reproductions are fantastic; and include some rare plates in their full coloured glory. The volume tells you which edition of the plates are being reproduced (for Blake hand-made and hand-coloured each one individually and so every one is a little bit different), there is a brief introduction to each poem/collection allowing you to place it in context and also included are some of the"alternate" plates - plates found to exist in one version, but not another.
The size of the book allows you to view the plates as they should be viewed; hence, the smaller plates such as those of"Songs of Innocence and Experience" are reproduced to size but you the larger plates are also reproduced at a good size, allowing you to fully appreciate the work. It contains an excellent timeline and also a transcription of all the poems at the back of the book which is highly useful as sometimes, particularly with the smaller plates, Blake’s writing can be rather small making it difficult to make out some words or phrases.
This really is a wonderful volume. The reproduction is among the best I have seen of his work - many reproductions tend to be rather faded, but not so with this volume - and I was so impressed with it that I ordered several more for my English teachers to use. If you want to fully appreciate Blake, then you have to see his plates, and this volume provides you with wonderful reproductions. If you have any interest in Blake, then this is the edition to get.

Beautiful portraits detailing the story of the Divine Comedy from Inferno to Paradise. Complements the text wonderfully.

Basic Commodity

This book is simply great. It is like a diccionary, very handy when you find an instruction in a patern that you never heard before, there is all the chances it will be in here (and it will be easy to find). The ilustrations are not great, but it is very well writen and easy to understand. A basic in any knitting kit.

The best scarf book ever !!

I have never written a review before, but this book is so good, that I felt compled to write one.<br /><br />This is simply the best hand knitting scarf book I have ever seen. The patterns caters for all knitting skills levels and is filled with clever designs. I can not put it down, I am working my way though the book and so far I have enjoyed each and every scarf.<br /><br />Buy the book today, you wont regrate it.

Great Guide

As a complete novice to flower arranging, I was looking for an easy-to-follow, informative book that would give me some background knowledge. I wasn't disappointed. The photography is clear and shows the displays to their full beauty. The text is simple and doesn't use jargon.

I think this book would suit any flowr-arranging novice and offers some great ideas to try.
