Good Guide to Haworth & Its Ghosts

This book provides the history of various pubs, inns and other Haworth buildings as well as brief descriptions of any ghosts on the premises. However, the primary subject is the cemetery and some of its more interesting gravestones.<br /><br />For many, `Haworth' is synonymous with `Brontë.' Unfortunately, the author isn't a Brontë afficionado and omits some intriguing information about the family and the location that inspired the sisters' novels. I realize the book contains only 128 pages and the author explains he has"neither the inclination or the space" to delve further into the lives of the famous Brontës, however, he devotes eight pages to"The Graveyard Cookbook" and the recipes for such delectable morsels as Toads' Legs in Garlic and Poached Baby Rats in Damson Wife. While I'm sure this chapter was intended as comic relief, it is, in fact, ridiculous. The author should have used these eight pages to provide additional information about the Brontës, walking maps of Haworth, other local legends, or, let's face it--just about anything would have been preferable to recipes for bat soup and fried worms!<br /><br />Nevertheless, I generally liked the book although I would have liked it better had the author included a map of Haworth showing the locations of the various pubs and other buildings.<br />

IT TOOK ME THE WHOLE OF ONE EVENING TO READ THIS BOOK, TRULY GRIPPING. CANT WAIT TO READ THE WHOLE SERIES. I AM NOW SCARED OF EVERYTHING FROM WINDOWS TO MIRRORS, IF YOU LOVE SUPERNATURAL YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK.

I should have realised this would be a bad book when I heard he is friend's with Pete Price, the local DJ in Merseyside. The book is full of inaccuracies and is irritating. How on earth he expects us to believe in the paranormal id beyond belief. Don't buy this book if you want a serious case study of the paranormal. It is really boring.

"Haunted Inns Of Hampshire" is a book i am so glad i have, It has more than 50 haunted Pubs all in the Dorset/Hampshire area. I'm not really into PUBS but more GHOSTS. So this book is facinating, especially to read all the detailed stories on each Pub and see the photos and drawings relating to each Haunted Inn! If you like going down the Pub and Ghost Hunting then this is for you!. I give this book my thumbs up for its"Superb Content" and its"Facinating Stories of Ghosts and Hauntings".

Great book

Whether you have been to whitby or not,this book makes you feel like your there,but in the scariest of moments.13 great ghost stories that are aimed around the town.Are they folk legends or true,read this book and you can decide for yourself

Great Insight

This book provides a great insight into the processes that are used in seances and exorcism, and a real man's views on the existence of the spirit world. Roberts' points are both believable and persuasive, and it is remarkable to think this man never saw a ghost. A great read for believer and non-believer alike, but could have been a little longer.
