Great end to this series of Books
Careful Spoilers included:-

An enjoyable end to this series of 7 books. Darker, more intense then most of the other 6 books, this novel has few if any laughs but the battle scenes towards the end of the book are exciting, and there are some nice twists to the story, even if some of the story is a little predictable.

The last 200 pages were especially good and I found I couldn't put the book down and it great to have Gringotts featured again and of course nice that a lot of the ending happened at Hogwarts as that did seem to be missed from the beginning of the book.

I was disappointed that Mad Eye Moody was killed off so suddenly and found the scene where Dobby the House Elf came to rescue Harry and the others and then got killed by Bellatrix was especially emotional and was written really well by JKR. Also felt sad about Lupin, Tonks and Fred and of course guessed that Snape would kind of come good in the end, after all Dumbledore had never doubted him and he was usually right. I did however feel that the Epilogue at the end was a bit of a mistake and was just the publishers push to JK to tie things up in a neat ribbon for younger readers at the end, but it was so rushed and added little to the story that it really was unnecessary to have it there.

All in all a really good book and thorougly enjoyable to read and a shame the series has come to an end. Don't feel it should be read to very young children though as they may feel very upset with the scenes where people die as these are written in quite a bit of detail.

I don't think JKR should write any more HP books though, it should be left at this one and its fantastic that she has got people of all ages reading again. She should be highly commended for this.23

GENIUS !
I Loved this book !
was great to be out of Hogwarts for a while at 12 Grimmauld Place ! indeed it is a Grim Old Place !
Loved the idea of the headquarters of the Order of the Pheonix, ie those against Voldemort to be in a family home of the ancient Pure Blood Blacks (big voldemort followers(except Sirius of course!)) with Siruis's mother screaming obscenities at everyone from a Picture on the wall ! JK Rowling is a genius !
this is the Darkest book so far and was very sad in parts but fabulous !
GENUIS !24

Review of the CD - Brilliantly read
Stephe Fry's narration is far and away the best that I have listened to over many years of enjoying audio books. Each and every character has their own distinctive and perfectly-judged voice, so that you know instantly who is speaking before the name is given. This makes it so much easier to simply enjoy the wonderful story without being distracted by confusion as to who is saying what, as so often happens with other narrators. We bought all of the other Harry Potter CDs, and they have all been great. I recommend listening to these stories whilst curled up on the sofa on a Winter's evening over any T.V program that I can think of.25

Only for the fans...
Well, if you believe that various editions of"Harry Potter" books and glorious films of the same name aren’t enough, then you’re in for a treat!"Quidditch Through the Ages" is a history of No1 wizard sport and it’s great fun! It is written as a Hogwarts Library book, with names of our favorite characters scrambled throught the book as if they really used it. And there is substance. Lots of it. It is evident that Mrs Rowling (cleverly signed as Kennilworthy Whisp) knows her world in details, as this book is totally in the spirit of the books. It is witty and interesting, just like"Harry Potter" books are. Although it is obvious only true fans will enjoy it,"Quidditch Through the Ages" is truly a delight!27

Potter mad
looking at some of the reviews on here, i think a lot of people are trying to rebel against the now norm of loving the harry potter series. Yes, the first book is quite young, but you gotta take it for what it is, a childs book! i HAVE read most of the other books people are recommending instead of Potter and enjoyed them in their turn and it is possible to love Potter as well as Frodo (for instance)!33

A great 20-minute read
A lovely read, I find myself reaching time and time again for this book because of the hilarious"comments" made my Ron Weasley and Harry Potter. This really does remind of a fantasy textbook, in the way that we would all love to scribble in our textbooks from time to time, to enliven the dull formulas and such that we all have had to learn! However, this is anything but dull.

JK Rowling goes into detail about mythical creatures, all of which are very interesting to read, partly due to the fact that most of them have been mentioned in the Harry Potter series, and you find yourself giving a little smile of recognition once every two minutes.

Funny, short, and a wonderful thing to keep on your bookshelf - if you have a few minutes to spare, don't know what else to do , and find yourself not in the mood for reading something long - here's your answer!35

I'd rather be a prisoner in Azkhaban than read another Potter book
Having watched the films and enjoyed them, I spoke to my fiancée with regards to reading the books. She has read them all and suffers from what can only be described as 'pottermania'. Knowing me as well as she does, she recommended that if I was to get into the story in the book, I would be better reading"prisoner" to start with as it was probably the best written of the early books.

Armed with a lazy saturday afternoon and the phone off the hook, I sat back and read what JKR had to offer. I hasten to add, I am an avid SF/Fantasy reader and own several hundred books of the ilk, so I felt that I could seriously give it a go and get myself immersed in potterdom.

Ok, on to the book.

That evening, I finished what can possibly be described as the worst waste of time in my life. Now, I understand that the story is for kids, I'm not knocking that fact and the way that JKR writes, it is as if a kid had written it. I found I couldn't get to grips with her storytelling style. The language used was basic and how adults could be drawn into such a world, defies belief. It just goes to show that even if you aren't a good writer, you could still become a millionaire on the back of media promotion and the hype that surrounds a new book.

If I were you, I would stick to the films, they at least are enjoyable to watch, contain the interesting bits of the books and thankfully are only 2 hours out of your life wasted!36

A useful and interesting learning tool
I read this book in English and loved it, well who hasn't dreamed about being a wizard or witch? The decision to read the Spanish version was the result of a desperate search for material with which to improve both my reaiding and writing in this language. It was great, ok so afer only 18mths learning Spanish I found some passages tough, but knowing the english version meant that I could piece the story together and enjoy the challenge. I would reccomend this to any Spanish people looking for a fun read and any students searching for a way to improve their Spanish. Trust me you'll learn idioms, new vocabularly and it looks impressive on the bus!37

Harry Potter and the Chamber of secrets
This series is absolutely brilliant! I have now read all the books (I read the last one on the day it came out and in less than 24 hours!) I am now collecting all the books in special edition. This book has as much flying, magic, spells, bad guys and heroes as the first! If I was you I would click buy straight away! DO IT! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW! Or you will regret it. In special editon you get gold leafed pages, the book in hardback and a string bookmark.
It is worth the money!
My favourite part in the book is when Harry and Ron are hoping Snape's been sacked but really he's right behind them!
Gildiroy Lochart is such a puff as well! He's all me me me! He says he's battled with banshees and fought werewolves. But is that true? And what secrets does the Chamber of Secrets hold? It's deffinately a bad one and when Harry's classmates start getting attacked it looks like Hogwarts could be closed...............40

Learning Languages
I am reading the Danish, French, & Polish & with the French & Polish audio versions; J.K. Rowlings has made learning other languages a little easier. A very good story from this book to the last in the series.
