At last something fun!
Why do so many people and authors want to make pregnancy soo very boring and serious!! This book tells it as it is, a laugh and something to be happy about, not label, worry and fret.

I would recommend that all other pregnancy books are burned at the bottom of the garden and this can then become your nine month bible!!63

Rock solid scientific evidence and easy-to-folllow advice
The book is great. It presents many scientific data without being boring or worse incomprehensible for lay-people and it gives plenty of good advice. I myself have a four month old son and I have greatly profited from the book. Many parents who come to visit my wife and me find my son sociable, smiling and happy. In my opinion this book is a must for parents and people who work in nurseries and in general with newborns and small children.64

Not worth buying.
The Game was a great read. Sadly, the follow up is merely an attempt to cash in on the success of his first book. Even after Neil announced his"retirement" from the game you could see this book coming :) the temptation to cash in was just too great.

The Challenge itself (first part of this book) was originally available on Neil's website for free and was supposed to be Neil's last present to the pick up community. (Its funny how everything Neil does is a"last thing I'll ever do, because too many people have asked me too and I just couldn't let them down :)" I wonder what's the next `last thing' would be .....) Anyways....... As far as I can see there are no additional challenges, missions, tips, etc. This is just a compilation of what is already available and there is nothing in this book that you couldn't find within a minute of searching online. 1 star out of 5

Obviously Neil couldn't just sell 'The Challenge' on its own, so he had to throw in some gimmick to make it a complete product. As a result we get the later part of the book (The Style Diaries). I feel like Neil was under the pressure of deadline from the publisher and haven't spent too much time writing this. The stories are not as entertaining and as his previous writings. Some guys in the community have summed it up us"Neil bragging about his exploits, probably to increase the value of what he teaches in the reader's eye, for the benefit of his future products". I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. Some of the stories were fun to read, but nowhere near as good as the Game. 3 stars out of 5

Overall you could argues that the primary point of the book was to promote the"Style" brand and cash in on the success of his first book. Disappointing. Hope the next product is better.65

Good theory - but where's the practice?
The book's all theory - you need one of his $2,950 courses to make it work, or get a book on it, as he tells you to do on page 77. So what's the point of buying this book? The first 67 pages are his definitions and his hugely time wasting theory. There's loads of repetiton.

The book lacks `canned material' - whole examples of everything you might say and do from start to finish. If there was just one chapter on it, the book would justify itself. But that would be the only chapter you would need to learn, and its missing.

I've finished it, re-read it and summarised the useful bits: I only got one and three quarter pages of useful info. It has not equipped me to even begin the first"opener."
67

reader, loughborough, UK
Y'all this book is awesome! It just gets better by the page. Most of the things written in it are things you already know but didn't necessarily consider important. It doesn't just tell you what they are but how to use it, and it also gives a few examples of the writer's personal experiences to enable you visualise where the idea comes from. If you're a shy person like me who's dying to comfortably talk to someone new you meet or are trying to get the attention of your friends and colleagues...then this is definately the book for you. Personally the rating here isn't enough to convey how good the book is, or maybe i'm just crap at communicating...but you'll never know if you do not read the book!68

What a fascinating insight!
As a parent, grandparent and teacher I am fascinated by this amazing book. We put our own interpretations on to what we think babies are thinking and feeling and this super book gives a completely different story. It is highly informative, funny and fascinating. It is also very accessible for lay people like me. If you have any involvement with babies and very young children, I cannot recommend it highly enough.69

Music to my eyes...
A very interesting explanation on what makes music sooo attractive to the vast majority of us... the first two chapters are in my opinion, heavy to read (I had to go back several times to try and get the idea); actually, in this regard I found the first statements of the author a little bit contradictory, since as he somehow explains, science (technical facts) should be explained"easily"... well, it wasn't in my opinion for the most of the beginning. After that, the book gets much lighter, much friendlier and"simple" to understand.

The way -Daniel Levitin explains- how our brain rather than"concentrate" certain functions or types of information in particular parts of our brains (as it was thought), rather"distributes" them in several to be first accumulated and then processed between all of those (and others) I found new and fascinating. Also, the property that our brains have to adapt and learn new things (tricks!) is overwhelming too... (There's hope then!), contrary to the ancient believe that as we grow old, new knowledges are difficult to learn (assimilate). Then he explains how these and other characteristics add to make music sooo enjoyable... (it is possible to live without TV, but not without a radio!).

Good book. I'm glad I ordered it!72

Inspiring, Brilliant, an aid to recovery

Lesson from Nazi death camps for everyday life
I'm not a scientist by training and have often bought psychology books in the past only to be disappointed.

However Mr Frankls' book is amazing. It is effectively in two parts the first being about his experiences in a WWII concentration camp and the second being about his revolutionary theory of logotherapy. This theory which, very basically says that we should all strive to find meaning in our lives (meaning coming from within not imposed from without), is very convincing and has even assisted me in my daily life.

Would definitely recommend this book as although the context is WWII concentration camps there are lessons here for the twenty-first century Westerner.

The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because some of the psychological reasoning in the latter part of the book is at times difficult to follow.
75

Laugh out loud and true
Loved this book.
Not only did it make me laugh out loud, a lot, but also reminded me about the truths of good parenting - to be happy (...have faith that...in the long run...your kids will learn from how you behave, rather than how you tell them to behave) and spend time 'doing nothing' with your kids. Even my husband put aside his books on Globalisation and Economics to read it from cover to cover, laughing all the while.80
