Recomendation for any nusing student.
I would reccomend this book to any student nurse. I am now in my third year and I still use this book to refresh my memory before a drugs calculation test. It has lots of calculations for you to practice with and is a must if you struggle with things like IV calculations. Easy to use and understand. The best book I have found to help me with my drugs calculations.
83

A comprehensive yet readable textbook for sports psychology
I was looking to gain an understanding of the often referred to concept of sports psychology, in an effort to improve my rugby. I found this book was ideal in that it was comprehensive while remaining highly readable. It also has a good visual appearance, which makes you want to read it. Weinberg and Gould have the ability to describe some complex ideas and principles simply and clearly. They avoid the trap of making the subject seem dry and boring and manage to give the subject a vitality of its own. The whole layout of the book breaks the subject down into bite-size pieces. I found I was able to dip quite easily into sections that interested me without feeling lost because I had not read the previous chapter. The use of photographs and diagrams is also well done, enhancing the text and aiding understanding rather than being added just for show. The use of case studies and anecdotes gave me a greater insight into the idea that was being explained. Having read a number of other texts that cover the same sort of ground as this one, I can say this book should be considered the standard by which to judge the others by.89

At last something fun!
Why do so many people and authors want to make pregnancy soo very boring and serious!! This book tells it as it is, a laugh and something to be happy about, not label, worry and fret.

I would recommend that all other pregnancy books are burned at the bottom of the garden and this can then become your nine month bible!!91

Basic, but to the point with excellent diagrams.
I am a Biology degree student and used this along side a much more advanced a&p text as pre-lecture reading and a revision prompt. The explanations are clear and concise with simply brilliant illustrations. Every body system is covered briefly.

This book is easily accessible to many people; and a firm understanding of biology is not required to read this. Someone curious of the human body would not be put off by this book, and would hopefully be encouraged to read further.

However, this book is basic and does not cover everything; but for what it does cover and the methods used it is superb value and something useful for dipping in and out of for a quick refresher of anatomy.94

The dogs boll**ks!
Wonderful.

I am tempted to go collect all the books that have seduced me with promises of self-help miracles and take them outside to the garden, set them ablaze and dance around their flames, chanting this books title over and over again. I would laugh gleefully as McKenna went up in smoke, chortle as NLP manuals glowed ember red, gyrate in mockery as positive thinking went the way of the witches...

This book is pure. It makes sense. It resonates. It transforms. Like so many books before it the message is simple - learn to relax and life becomes so much easier, so much less complicated (because we complicate it without even knowing we are). Change perspective and most importantly keep it changed. The author is a genius at getting to the root of the problem and with an abundance of humour making it easy to get past and reach that state of ease we all desire (well I do).
95

Review:
This book tells you how to do it. But you must do it yourself.
I'll start by saying, I have all Paul's books, and I'm a massive admirer of his work and ethos.

There's one massive flaw with this book though. Reading the synopsis, the reviews and even the introductory chapter, you get the impression reading the book will change your life in seven days. If you just read it, you won't. I do feel if I was to knock one mark out of one hundred for this book, it would be that Paul doesn't make it clear enough, you can't just read the book. It's a manual you have to learn from and apply to your life.

Practise, and execution is the key. Paul will show you how to do it, but really you have to do it. I would consider needing 15 mins a day (best in the morning) to go through the exercises.

And when the going gets tough, don't give up. Go back to the methods.

I say this, because I've twice"failed" on the book. I'll go for up to a week, before falling back in bad habits.

Having just split up with my girlfriend, I'm taking on the book again (and Paul's other title 'I Can Mend Your Broken Heart'). And this time I'm going to take on the suggestions, and the life changes religiously. Life I breath air!

And when you do this with the book, its fully worth 5 stars.96

Why people giving this low score - this book great
I see that 2 teachers are slating this book, but my whole class uses this book and is teacher recommended. Fair enougth people may not like the fact that it is very concise and doesnt elaborate too much. But i believe thuis is what makes a perfect a level book - just gives you the facts you need to do well in the exam, which thias book does. Its great for taking the notes you need. It has no unneccesary information, and doesnt waffle on about irrlevant stuff. A level is hard enough without a book that gives you an information overload and assumes you want to know everything about psychology.97

Certainly not for bed time reading...
Im a first year physiotherapy student and we have used palastanga as our musculoskeletal 'bible' - It has got a lot of useful detail in it which is needed although I would definately advise buying another simpler atlas of anatomy or something to help make this a little more palatable! - Originally, without any physio/anatomy knowledge, this book was just a muddle of complicated words that meant nothing to me...100

Commonsense
It's amazing how much of this book is commonsense yet we still don't do the things that the author purports or follow through with what we know. Somehow, seeing things in print, they way he's written them down, helps a great deal.

This book is for everyone from the Chairman of the Board, to the common housewife, and all those in between. David Allen gives you some great metaphors for life and its problems, and great ways to organize your tasks at hand. The information is actually presented in a fun manner and you'll find those daunting lists of things to do a lot more easy to swallow in time.

The only hesitation I had with the book was the suggest that, instead of sitting around waiting (in an office, for a plane, etc) that we whip out our cell phones and make the calls we need to. While productive, I personally don't opt for this route. There's a little too much of that going on anyway. Other than that, a great book to help you get organized.
