Clear and concise - good for students.
Clear layout with interesting insights from previous performances. It did feel a little as though it was being sponsored by one or two of them however, they were referenced so frequently. Also, there was a distinct lack of information on the play’s original performance, which most copies do have.

Great Intro to AS3
<br />For many designers and developers who use Adobe Flash, the introduction of ActionScript 3 was met with some trepidation. The perceived increase in the complexity of ActionScript 3 code compared to ActionScript 2 - including the belief that you must use Object-Oriented Programming to use AS3 - has led some to decide to stick with AS2. This is unfortunate, as AS3 has a number of advantages over AS2. While AS3 is somewhat more complex than AS2, it is not prohibitively so, and the time required to bring oneself up to speed with AS3 is well rewarded.<br /><br />"Learning ActionScript 3.0", by Rich Shupe and Zevan Rosser is, overall, a great introduction to AS3. The chapters are well organized, with a quick run-through of some familiar ActionScript concepts and code. If you've written any ActionScript before, you can skip this part, or skim through it just for some reassurance that not everything in AS3 is completely different from what you already know.<br /><br />The subsequent chapters cover major aspects of ActionScript programming, ranging from graphics to sound and video to loading pretty much any sort of data. For example, the new display list in AS3 is thoroughly and clearly explained; as somebody still relatively new to AS3 I found this to be a pretty significant change to the way I think about Flash, so I appreciated how well the authors covered this part of AS3. And if you think that everything in AS3 only got more complicated, this book is worth it alone for the chapter on working with XML. These and other topics are explained clearly and thoroughly. The authors are both teachers at New York's School of Visual Arts, and their experience as educators shows through in their writing. <br /><br />A neat aspect of the book is how it gradually transitions you into thinking about Object-Oriented Programming. For many people, the thought of having to do this with AS3 can be pretty scary. Initially, the code samples are meant to be placed right on the timeline. But part way in you get a primer on OOP. The book explains the concepts behind OOP very well, and gives the right amount of information - enough to get you going, but not so much that you'll get scared off at the thought of OOP. The code samples are no longer on the timeline, and suddenly you're working with object-oriented code, and it makes sense.<br /><br />Those who are already familiar with AS2 will probably get the most out of"Learning ActionScript 3.0". If you're new to programming, and not just new to ActionScript, then this probably won't end up as the primary book you'll use to learn how to code. For example, topics that would normally get their own chapters in a 'learn how to code' book, such as variables, get only a section of a chapter by way of introduction. If you've already done some coding, this will be enough to reassure you that not everything is significantly different in AS3, but if you're new to programming, you might want something that spends a little more time on the basics.<br /><br />In addition, the book would have benefitted from another round of proofing. There were a few typos that, although minor, were a bit of a distraction. The typos that I came across were pretty minor - nothing that you won't immediately notice, but it's too bad that they're there in the first place. And to be fair, I think I noticed only about a half-dozen throughout the book. (By the by, the errata page at learningactionscript3.com is much more complete than the page on O'Reilly's web site.)<br /><br />Obviously, if the most significant criticism I can make of this book is that there were a few too many typos for my liking, I think it's a very good book. If you're looking to make the jump into ActionScript 3 coding,"Learning ActionScript 3.0" is a great place to start your education.91

Speed, booze, sex and rock'n'roll!
As I would have guessed, Lemmy comes across as a likable, down-to-earth sort of bloke and a larger-than-life character. I'm a great fan of his music-- it's the only heavy metal I listen to. It's a great read and Lemmy is very funny with definite views. Hawkwind fans will be fascinated by his tales of his years with that band. Dave Brock has admitted that firing Lemmy was his biggest mistake. (Lemmy is still bitter about that incident, with some justification, but if you listen to the more level-headed Brock there is another side to that story too.) Some stories, such as Huw Lloyd-Langton's unfortunate acid trip, which led to his disappearance and conversion to Christianity, don't quite tally with Carol LeClerc's account exactly. Sometimes it dies read like someone who drinks a bottle of bourbon a day rambling but great stuff anyway! I could hardly put the book down.92

"Damned art thou, damned; despair and die!"
I, personally, found the text fairly confusing. In my mind, often after reading through a scene find myself thinking that something completely different has happened. These notes are great for clearing up any confusions and also provides names of other sources to get a deeper understanding of the text as Marlowe wrote it. Characterisations explanations are hugely helpful. A definite for anyone, even my lecturer teaches from it.93

Great Read
This book is one of those rare books that made it difficult for me to put it down, JRJ had many jobs and interests and he never classed himself as an actor, he said he never acted just played himself on screen and thankfully this book focuses more on the man and not the movies, what a life he had, well worth reading and I strongly recommend this book.95

A good companion to series one
This is a good companion to series one. It gives a nice mix of detail about the episodes, the background ideology, and information regarding the cast, with some great screen shots and behind the scenes pictures. It was a little lacking in information about the John Winchester character, but that's only a tiny thing.<br /><br />When compared again the likes of the"Supernatural: Monsters, Spirits, Demons and Ghouls" (which was a dire let down) this is 5 stars all the way.97

Brilliant - a guide that's really useful
This little book helped me decide to make the switch from my current MP3 player and go for an iPod. It's so clearly written, so full of great advice and tips that it's been better than any user manual could possibly have been.<br /><br />Written with the usual wit and flair one expects from Rough Guides, this is an absolute must for anyone who is thinking of buying an iPod. For once - the blurb on the cover of a book is actually true. "You need this book". An excellent little guide indeed.98

Poetic and harrowing
Many readers would dismiss classical literature as staid and impenetrable. They couldn't be more wrong and this translation of the Theban Plays proves it. The powerful story of the destruction of a family is told with incredible pace and verve: Oedipus lacks awareness but longs for it and faces the blistering consequences of his straight questions; he and his daughter Antigone are reduced to homelessness and poverty; Antigone, alone eventually, is criminalized for her refusal to compromise to state law. These dramas of individuals facing the often irreversible consequences of their uncompromising actions will always be relevant. This touching, powerful translation in contemporary English is the most accessible to new readers.99

POOR
<br /><br />More copy and paste tripe from the man that talks more about less than anyone else on the planet. <br />It will probably appeal to middle aged men who drive white vans and don't get much attention from members of the opposite sex... <br />My main dislike of Moyles is that he has possibly the best job in the country, is paid hansomely for it and yet chooses to fill his show (and Books) with a stream of constant drivel. Virtually everything that comes out of his mouth is educationally insulting, irrellevant, immature, uninformed, dull or just downright offensive. <br /><br />
