absolutely fantastic

this was the most moving, upsetting, yet amusing at times, book i have read in a very long time. These women are a total inspiration to me and I thank them for sharing thier story with us. I am familiar with the CoG and was interested to read what it was really like from the inside. A gripping and compelling story that was uncomfortable at times but well worth reading.

How did you do that?

I was dumbfounding people while I was barely a quarter of the way through the book. Techniques get more difficult as the book progresses, but with practice, a beginner can look quite slick in a short space of time.

FUN & EFFECTIVE

I also found this cassette strange at first, but soon started to enjoy the 'ahing? and 'auming. Side A is the 'ah' side for manifesting what you want via Siddhi Consciousness which is induced by controlled breathing and repeating the 'ah' sound while imagining an energy flow between your root and third eye chakras. (Interesting that the name of the deity has this sound in most languages - God, Brahma, Shiva, Krishna, Allah, Tao, Ra etc.) Side B is expressing gratitude through the 'aum? sound. Soon I had some transcendent (and scary) moments because you can feel something happening at the third eye - my dogs who meditate on top of and around me, also got a bit frightened once or twice. But it was worth the effort because the manifestation did take place. Now I use this tape perhaps once a month for the pleasure of it. I can understand that some people might find it a bit weird but I'm all the richer for it.

Hands of light

I bought this book to read more about the energy field their purpose and effect in a little more depth and I wasn't disappointed. As a Reiki level 3 healer I find this book of tremendous value. One of the main one's to me is, as some of us cannot see energy colour, I have found by showing the people I treat the illustration in the book (of healer and client) is benifical. They can see and picture the energy in all its glorious colours they are receiving. Personal feed back from all I've treated are very pleased by this simplistic explaination. Barbara Brennans books are a must for beginers and experienced healers.

Biased against working mother

There are many good points in this book but the author is going completely wrong in his negative view of working mothers. Study after study has now clearly shown that children are happiest when the mother is happiest - whether working or at home. The uncomfortable truth is: Staying at home with a young child can be torture. Incredibly boring, irritating and stressful. And to top it off - you will be despised for being 'just a housewife' by the rest of society. Has Biddulph himself ever tried it for any length of time? I very much doubt it because otherwise his views might be a bit more compassionate - and better researched.

Good starting point

As much as there are pages with words in this book, there are just as many pages with photographs from water crystals from all over the world - from natural springs, from tap water, and then the images that were taken when different music was played, or when different positive and negative words and statements (samples were taking from many different languages) were written on a piece of paper. <br /><br />Some sample words and statements were"love" and"you fool". The crystal which formed when the word"love" was written in Japanese looked so beautiful and well defined, that it almost made me begin to learn Japanese (soon, I will). But the havoc that the statement"you fool" created - I think that all who happen to use these words frequently either when referring to themselves or others, should take a closer look to get a picture as to what it does to their bodies. <br /><br />It has been known to those who are involved in metaphysical studies that the vibration of love heals the body and that vibrations of fear, hate, lies cause the cells of the body to fall apart. The pictures in this book demonstrate what the vibrations of different ideas, thoughts, emotions, statements and music do to water. <br /><br />This is an enlightening book which is intended to demonstrate the effect that music and words we use have on our bodies, given the fact that our bodies are mainly composed out of water. <br /><br />The current edition of the book is an expanded version of the original book which contained only pictures and was reprinted due to its great demand. <br /><br />The author did make few statements, though, which I do not consider entirely correct - one of them being that"ALL is made out of water" - I believe that, at least in view of both quantum physics and metaphysics, it would be more correct to state that - ALL is made out of intelligent energy - and that water in this case was a medium for experiments which have the workings of energy and vibration at the core. <br /><br />Having an esoteric background, when I picked up this book, I was expecting it to go a little bit further - as in consciously intending outcomes and projecting them upon the glass of water, instead of just writing the words and statement on paper. One can, for example, also use litmus paper to measure the changes in pH levels in water after directing focused energy charged with specific thoughts, either purely mentally or through one's hands, into the glass of water. <br />

Revive your spirit and re-awaken the flame!

This book is a must-have for the times that you despair and lose faith in yourself. At such times you need only open this book at a random page and let Coelho's wisdom renew your inner strength. This book is 100% pure inspiration. I highly recommend it!

tell tell tell us do - what then is the 1st bestest chakra clearer

theres always one (and its often the same one) who demolishes the reviews section with a comment like this is the second best chakra clearing book, and thendoesn't tell the rest of dirty, blocked chakra'd folk which is the best way of clearing our chakras...tell us guru jamieson, enlighten us, have you per chance written a book....to share generously the great chakra clearing wisdom of the Jamieson...

It worked!

My dad had osteoarthitis for several years that targeted his hands and wrists. The doctor & hospital specialists could do no more that prescribe drugs that did little more than ease the pain, so in desperation I searched around for something which I hoped would relieve his suffering a bit. <br /><br /> When I found this book I was of course very sceptical, as was my dad when I gave it to him. He closely followed the diet & supplement regime though (excepting the epsom salt baths - only got a shower!), & he was amazed to find that not only did the pain diminish over several weeks, but the swelling in his hands greatly reduced & his fingers straightened out too. I always thought that the damage caused by crippling arthirtis was irreversible, but when I last spoke to him last he was looking forward to seeing the little finger on his right hand (the last bent one) straighten out in time.<br /><br /> The cure is generally based around apple cider vinegar, molasses, honey & a more considered approach to one's diet.<br /><br />Two tips: <br />(1) be patient but stick with it.<br />(2) if the molasses is too hard to take, try mixing it into warm (not hot - you need to preserve the nutrients!) milk or water.<br /><br />I now keep details of this book in my wallet so I can recommend it to anyone I meet who has arthritis.

Something for Everybody

The little book of happiness should be owned by everyone. This tiny little book has a simple, non-cryptic message on every page and is perfect to dip into for a little inspiration.

Perfect for even non-spiritual people, this book suggests small and practical ways to change the way we think and interact with people to help us be happier in our every day life.

The Dalai Lama takes a non-dogmatic approach to showing us that we don't need to change our environment to achieve happiness, but by making small changes to the way we think inside, we can achieve true and lasting happiness, not just for ourselves but for the people around us and the world as a whole.

I'm not even the slightest bit spiritual, but after reading this book, I was inspired to read"The Art of Happiness", also by the Dalai Lama. By taking on-board the simple advice offered, I am no longer stressed-out all the time, and find life a lot easier to take.

I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone at all.

Fantastic value

I must confess that I was never a fan of Louise Hay before this but I’ve since converted! This small book is packed with so much clear and concise information regarding affirmations and is beautifully illustrated throughout. Specific topics such as health, self esteem, forgiveness, job success, relationships are also discussed at some length. It also comes with a CD which is the audio version of this book. So you can choose whether to read the book or listen to the cd. You will not regret buying this set!!!

Excellent. Buy, listen, re-listen. Eckhart Tolle expresses so clearly what many have tried and failed to communicate.

Apparently...

Well basically I got this as a present for someone because I knew they'd find it interesting/informative/whatever. So I can't vouch personally for it, but it's supposedly a brilliant read; Neither myself nor the recipient are religious people but this is recommended for anyone that wants to get some information on the subject without any propaganda or other general crap fogging up the facts.

A delightful book to read & a joy to own!

I can't recommend this book highly enough. It's comes out at the time of year where it's really easy to lose sight of who you are and what you want, so reading it (particularly now) is very inspiring. What I have found most refreshing about this book is Nicky's honesty, passion and the way she writes from the heart. It's a lovely book that appeals on so many different levels and one I'm sure I'll pick up again and again. It's also something beautiful to have on my coffee table!

Overpriced

For the ideas that it presents, this is over-priced. There are only a few 'rules' presented for mind-mapping, and for anyone who's ever seen a mind-map, those rules are pretty obvious. I bought this hoping for some great ideas and insights into what mind-mapping can do for you, but instead it told me what I already knew, with an excess of exclamation marks to hammer the few points it presented home.

There are many better books about creative thinking out there.

Something here if you can tolerate Eckhart's colossal ego...

There's something here but you will need to be very tolerant to find it. Read a friend's copy... but had real trouble not scribbling all over it and ripping a few pages out here and there. Its full of sweeping generalisations, buried assumptions and his own beliefs justified by little more than rhetorical trickery.<br /><br />The ego stuff is all accurate enough but it's not exactly brimming with new inspiration. Very judgemental too. Everyone who egoic is miserable and screwed up. Excuse me..! I know loads of egoic people that are content and satisfied with their world.<br /><br />Thought the external/internal purpose stuff was good. All very Zen and written in an accessible way. Liked the acceptance/enjoyment/enthusiasm ideas and the internal space stuff is refreshing to read. Didn't really understand what he was on about with the pain-body though (=subconscious?). Unfortunately it was far too poorly explained for me to relate to.<br /><br />He makes liberal use of pseudo scientific terms like vibration, frequency, energy-fields. These words have no meaning I can relate to in this context. I am sure that they do have a meaning to Eckhart, but without explanation, it becomes little more than part of a belief system. And if Eckhart is creating his own belief system, then that's a colossally egotistical thing to do.<br /><br />He spends a lot of time explaining that a new species of enlightened people is now evolving but doesn't present any evidence that this is the case. Then there's the universal purpose and universal consciousness stuff. Wibble. The universe just"is". He even says so. It's got no purpose or meaning or consciousness. Plus the universe is created by you, not the other way round. He really should have figured that out by now.<br /><br />Reads a bit like someone who popped out of their ego over lunch, then came back thinking - cool, I'm really good at getting out of my ego, I'll write a book about it and become rich and famous.<br /><br />Anyway, problem is that truly enlightened people are never going to waste time writing books, so I figure you have to be tolerant if you going to learn anything. With that in mind, I did enjoy the book. There's something there, behind Eckhart's colossal ego...<br />

Positive Thinking?

I think the essence of this book is indoctrinating people into thinking positively and thus effecting positive change in their lives and then getting them to believe it was their innate psychic ability that actually effected the change when in reality it was probably just coincidence or their determination and belief that they could achieve more with their lives.<br /><br />I am not convinced that the author isn't a charlatan out to make some easy money by preaching to the gullible.<br /><br />Some of his personal experiences are laughable: for example psychically moving cars on the highway. Apart from anything else this is a waste of pyschic power but perhaps the rearview mirror image of some loon bearing down on the drivers in front at 80 mph caused the drivers to pull over?<br /><br />I could probably replicate this psychic exercise by driving fast behind someone in a lane. Except if I did it, it would be called tail-gaiting!<br /><br />Contrary to the impression I might give here I am not cynical about esoteric areas. I have had some strange experiences with astral projection but something feels phony about Mr Hewitt. I just don't feel like he is telling the truth and to be honest I found a lot of his experiences very boring to read.<br /><br />Why should the reader care about his experiences when all we want to know is how to develop our own pyschic awareness?<br /><br />He keeps saying we should be able to do great things from our basic pyschic level but to get there is only a matter of a simple visualisation exercise.<br /><br />What you get for your money is a couple of visualisation exercises and some minor references to other esoteric areas.<br /><br />If anyone can make Brad Pitt or Scarlett Johansson fall in love with them after reading this book and practising the exercises I'll gladly change my opinion but until then I'm not convinced.<br />

Superior Lamination

I have found these particularly useful for constructing the 5th row of my World Record attempt at the largest House of Cards in the world. The energy pouring from them no doubt helped anchor the layers above and below with the power of their love, prayer and slightly thicker board. <br /><br />I've already ordered the Magical Unicorns Oracle Cards AND the Magical Mermaids and Dolphin Oracle Cards since the magical energy inherent in them will aid the trickier stages as I reach the apex. A good buy all in all and thoroughly recommended to anyone looking to harness the power of the divine as they strive to achieve immortality in the pages of the venerable Guinness book.

Concise and refreshing

The book strikes a good balance between sex and emotion. The first chapter deals with the more spiritual aspects of Tantra, then moves onto male/female sexual geography. The book then deals with women/men and Tantra then"Solo Tantra". It finishes off with more excercises both spiritual and physical(dealing with some common problems too), including sensual food and massage. This isn't a"relationship book" and their isn't any social phsychology involved, its based on the premise of sexual healing..and i have to say as a man...it was a great start.
