I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone. Most of the objects on the cover don't have any patterns inside the book. What I didn't understand when I bought it was that it's a book for beginners, with very simple and ugly designs and with just pictures of the more advanced ones.70

A New Approach to Card Making
The refreshing and unusual cards so beautifully presented in this book will keep you returning to it's pages for ideas over and over again. It's modern and artistic approach breaks with the traditional concepts of card making and really stretches the imagination in new directions. There are all kinds of techniques represented, and a very concise description of how to construct the cards shown yourself and what products were used in their creation. However, the only complaint is that the materials used are very specific and would cost a small fortune to source and purchase, so an adaptable approach is required to copy them. The assumption also is that you already have the skills to have mastered all the techniques required as there aren't any indepth tutorials. If you want to be inspired, this book will certainly push your boundaries out and make you think again about what a greetings card should be. I'm learning fast as I want to make cards as good as these. A really interesting and visually impressive book.72

A real treasure!
I really love this book both for the number and range of techniques it shares and for the inspiring ATCs within. Many of the techniques shown (there are over 25 different ones demonstrated) are versatile and lend themselves to altered art in general which I found to be very useful. This is a great book, packed with ideas and I'd recommend it to anyone interested in creating ATCs (whether you're just starting out or have been creating ATCs for years). Personally, one of the things I found most useful about the book was the range of styles (I note in saying this that I'm at odds with the last reviewer!). I also enjoyed experimenting with different mediums. This is definitely one of my favourite books - I refer to it often when I'm making ATCs. If you're only going to buy one ATC book, buy this one!73

I bought this book, I believe it was the third I bought. As I had started with others which although good, did not have as many patterns and ideas. this one has plenty so you certainly will not get bored. My guess is you would run out of quilling paper first! All the techniques you need to know are covered in an easy to digest manner.<br /><br />You will be able to make some fabulous pieces.75

I bought this book to give me ideas on what to do with my old books, i do art at university and found this book really helpful!!! I can use the techniques to make my own sketch books from old novels. I find myself constantly looking back at the book for inspiration and techniques. This book has information on techniques,materials and artists. Very useful if you are doing book-making for artist info etc.<br /><br />The only bad thing i can say is it shows you images of final pieces, does not show you the work in process, and doesn't actually show you how to book bind and construct the books. You only need to buy this book if your looking for inspiration and artist research.76

What a great book. I was given it as a gift by a friend and have just finished my first card. I have never done cross stitch before and am amazed by the results.<br /><br />Would recommend for any one interested in cross stitching cards no matter what level you are.

I found this book really inspiring for my art work, it has many different techniques for you to learn as well as the images, as the books states its all about nature, although you can apply these methods within other forms of journal/book making ideas, i own quite a few collage based books now, and i find this one is definitely one of my favorites!
