The word “ skrying ” means “ to see ” or “ observe ” and refers to the type of clairvoyance where use is made of mirrors, crystals, water in a bowl (like Galadriël in Lord of the Rings) or the tarot, to concentrate and focus psychic abilities in order to receive and interpret visions in the normal state of waking consciousness.
Regardie published this work in 1932 as an easy albeit comprehensive guide to the complex system of the Qabalah and to serve as a key to its symbolism. The primary symbol of this ancient Hebrew system is the tree of life that has been used for centuries as a means to study the nature of the cosmos and the qualities of the psyche.
With its emphasis on direct experience by meditating on the paths of wisdom, this is a most understandable introduction to the Qabalah. The editors have enhanced this classic work with their commentary, notes and a system of reference and have added practical material in the form of meditations, exercises, rituals and mantras.
Garden of Pomegranates is an excellent book for those interested in the working of the mind, in psychology, parapsychology and for practicians of the magical arts. This edition contains a glossary, bibliography and index. The text is enhanced by 52 beautiful illustrations and figures.

The garden hides the jewel
Symbols have always been used in the mystical tradition to express spiritual truths that cannot be properly expressed in words. The founders of the Qabalah created a particularly elegant system of symbols, numbers and the figure of the Tree of Life to convey their insights.

A marvelous and fascinating Read of possible human origin
If one takes the time to reason the immaculent impossibility that evolution could have achieved something as complex as the human speicies in such an apparent short space of time, while at the same time take millenia upon millenia to creat even the very basic of life forms on the planet seems almost, if not immpossible to believe. While I cannot say based on the assumptions that Robert Temple puts forth in his book the Sirius Mystery are all correct, what I can say is that when taken as whole, one can only logically draw one immutable conclusion - that the idea that life here began or at least has its roots someplace else off the planet, possibly in the Siruis star stystem,is as good as any other idea, or evolutionary speculation put forth by modern science - I think even better. The idea that even if evolution is true, and I do in fact believe that science has proven that living things do change and adapt to various changes in the invioronment over time, however, they don't mutate into entire different animal groups. By this I mean, plants are always plants, a bird is always a bird, a fish is always a fish, a reptile is always a reptile, a monkey is always a monkey, and a humanbeing is always a human being. Body styles may very, along with color and various adaptations suited to ones own environment and his ability to survive. It seems logical that we should be able to see the missing links in the fossil record between animal group to animal group concidering the amount of fossils we have at our disposal. All we can see, however, is the similarity between one animal group and another. Physical adaptations change again and again over time but the underlying animal type does not change over time. The Sirius Mystery causes one to question the current scientific dogma of our time which totally ignors the possibility of outside intervention from another scource, which on the face of things, is the only logical answer that can be given. The Sirius Mystery puts forth the very plausible notion that humanbeings are a cross between a type of ape now extinct and a devine being with human like qualities. The Bible as well as every other religeon with roots deep in the past seems to confirm this in one respect or another. There is a bond between us and our alien creator which is programmed into our DNA. This difference seperates us from all other speicies of animal life on the planet. We are programmed and therebye demonstrate by design, our God like ability to build civilizations, build rockets and start new colonies on other plannets just like our creators did millenia and millenia ago on this plannet called Earth using their own prevailing technowledgy. This is our God like nature right or wrong and our fullfilment/link to our allien past. Thank You for your book Robert Temple.25

Technical essence of Sauberger's inventions
This book is full of sketches, drawings and graphs related to Sauberger's inventions. A very patient reader will be able to reconstruct working principles of Sauberger's machines. Only problem is Sauberger himself, because he mixed his phylosophy with his engineering, so it is extremelly difficult to follow text to an practical conclusion. His understanding of nature was intuitive and included some forces we actually do not have a knowledge off. Although I believe that his machines work, those forces he mentions might be only his interpretation, but not something that actually exists. Anyway, book is a brilliant example of engineering romanticism.27

More spine-tingling and uplifting true-life tales
Following on from An Angel At My Shoulder, Angels and Miracles opens out the whole inspiring- experience phenomenon even more. The title is slightly misleading as Angels as such are not the main focus of the book. Instead there are true life tales of coincidence, synchronicity and miracles. Nevertheless I really enjoyed this book, and found the experiences of people around the world, uplifting and spine-tingling.28

This book does not make any assumptions about what does and doesn't happen, it is clear, incredibly detailed and deeply fascintaing. Looking into other dimensions
This book is a fascinating personal collection of photographs that have captured spiritual orbs, energy, ectoplasmic material and misty otherwordly images. The digital camera seems to act as a third eye and captures things that our physical eyes may have trouble seeing for more than a fleeting glimpse.

I read this book and went on a ghost walk with my digital camera, what I captured unwittingly was truly fascinating. The very fact that we are open to the concept of orbs and energies seems to draw them to us in some way. Worlds collide and bridges are built.

A book for all who wish to explore ghosts, orbs, spirit and nature spirit energies. Have book, have digital camera and be amazed at what you capture as a photographic record.

30

It IS on a par with Sitchin's earlier work!
Contrary to the previous reviewer's headline, this book IS on a par with Sitchin's earlier works. That is to say, like them it is utter rubbish from beginning to end. It is quite horrifying that garbage like this should find an audience and an ominous sign of the strange darkness beginning to envelop our culture and civilization. The reviews posted below speak for themselves.31

'Themselves'
An interesting collection of supernatural legends and folklore from the far past to quite recent. The writer draws on her knowledge of other supernatural 'hotspots' (such as the Pennines) to point out parallels elsewhere. Set out as day drives from the capital, Douglas, it is of interest for anyone to explore them at their leisure - but especially if on a week's holiday to the Isle of Man. if you want to know who 'Themselves' are, you'll probably need to buy the book.32

Light Hearted Vampires
Bothan and Calum are the twin vampire sons of Janklyn McNachton from a previous story. Bothan & Kenna's story is a more traditional Hannah Howell storyline. However I found humour in Calum & Sarra's story as she was so oftenly clumsy and yet so sincere and believable. Her many honest mistakes and obvious naivety to the truth provide for a truly interesting and complex character. This was a truly interesting and exciting read and I eagrely await Howell's next installment in this memorable series.34

Average
It was an okay book. Not among the greatest and anyone who has spent time on investigations would find this at an average read.

Mr. Whyman comes across as slightly arrogant at times and speaks as if no one really knows about the paranormal other than those he has worked with.
Paranormal is a personal interpretation and, as a book of his own viewpoint, this is written at a level easy to read for most average investigators. For those who have gone on more than the paid ghost tour, this is probably a bit too easy of a read.

I would recommend Ciaran O'Keefe's book recently released with Yvette Fielding for a more scientific and skeptical perspective that is written for a more experienced investigator.
35

Review:
Can a monster be redeemed?
How many books have, as their hero, a mass-murdering sadistic psychopath? How many books have, as their heroine, a former HIV-positive wild child? In that respect"Shadows On The Soul" is very different with Killer vampire Gabriel the hero and new vampire Jezebel the heroine. Gabriel made Jezebel a vampire after she was gang-raped by a lot of other vampires in a previous book but, in making his first fledgling, he set himself on an entirely new course.

Gabriel is angry with his father Eli, leader of the Guardians (a group of vampires who don't drink human blood and who try to dispatch vampires that do). Clearly Gabriel is one of the Killers that the Guardians need to dispose of and yet Gabriel knows that his father has hardly had an innocent life. When Gabriel decides to travel to Philadelphia to kill his father, Eli, and takes Jezebel with him, he finds things not exactly working out as he expected. Particularly as his mother Camille, in league with the evil Bartolomeo di Cesare, and along with a powerful born vampire Brigitte, is also after Eli and has a special method of disabling Eli that might just work.

In the first scene of the book we are with Gabriel as he kills a woman by drinking her blood. However, right at this first part of the story, it becomes clear there's more to Gabriel's sadistic psychopathic murdering than meets the eye. He doesn't choose his victims at random and he has some strange other attributes, such as being unable to see children hurt without trying to get revenge on those who hurt them. As the story unfolds and Jezebel and Gabriel find themselves linked in terms of emotions - they can feel what the other is feeling - Jezebel begins to learn more about Gabriel's true nature and whether, underneath the scary exterior, there's more to him than the others realise.

In some ways I felt the book copped out a little in terms of its bold start. As it becomes clear that our mass-murdering sadistic psychopath isn't those things but that there are reasons for everything he does and that he doesn't actually like the sadism, it's just something he's been told, we begin to discover that Gabriel is almost one of the goodies. The author continues to drip-feed us information on Eli and his history and his apparent omnipotence and his great goodness are continuing to be chipped away. Drake, the only Killer within the Guardians, is getting so disillusioned by all that he learns and the end of this book sets him up as the hero of the next one, starting in a different city. So the bold and strong start is rather filtered down by the time the book ends and our shocking hero and heroine seem significantly less shocking.

Jezebel's role in this story, as the heroine, is quite understated. She's not really a woman of action, more of emotion, and as we learn about her appalling history it becomes apparent why she might be attracted to Gabriel - an attraction to someone who has suffered and who understands, perhaps. I was a little surprised that the Guardians seemed to forgive her for being a spy on several occasions but overall she did come across as a sweet and nice girl in rather over her head with Gabriel the monster.

The pacing of this book was rather better than"Secrets In The Shadows", the previous book in this series, as more events took place and much more attention was paid to the characters which made the book more satisfying. This was a good read which provided some interesting food for thought although perhaps not utilised as fully as it could have been.

Originally published for Curled Up With A Good Book, © Helen Hancox 200736

Or was it all a miserable failure? or even a totally made up story? - You decide for yourself. This book does have many interesting points in it, and covers many peoples accounts of the actual event, though how much of it is true, and how much is purely exageration is anyones guess. Something to read while on the train to work, or while sitting on toilet.

This may be an old book now, first published 1976, but it hasn't dated.
This is the best small book on interpersonal relationships, what can go wrong and how to improve things, that I know about. I have lost so many copies because people borrow it and then just can't bear to give it back! It is short, easy to read, and well presented and contains the 'bare bones' of Virginia Satir's ideas and philosophies. Virginia Satir has been one of the most respected practitioners in the fields of family therapy, self esteem and interpersonal communication. She uses a practical approach with a minimum of jargon.
Look also for her books 'Conjoint Family Therapy' and 'Peoplemaking' amongst others39

Profound
This book is written by a wise old man with a youthful heart. If you accept the idea that transcendence is part of the fundamental nature of our universe, you are ready for this book. If you do not I recommend E.F. Schumacher's"Guide for the Perplexed", and Ken Wilber's"A Theory of Everything." Pearce makes extraordinary progress at integrating brain research, physics, the teachings of Jesus, mystical experiences, human developmental stages, and practical everyday living. Though the ultimate message--that we live best when we live from our hearts--has been repeated many many times; no one has ever said it with such intricate physical explanations. The contents of the book constantly push the boundaries of knowledge and understanding, and as a result it leaves more questions than it answers. The book is an extraordinary leap forward that begs for further research, evidence and practice.40

terrifying and brilliant
This book is absolutely brilliant! It contains hundreds of cases from across the country investigated by Andrew Green over the years - so you know that they are going to be out of the ordinary - and each has been revisited and updated by the author too. Poltergeists, ghostly nuns, haunted pubs, spirits in houses, and famous cases such as the haunting of the Albert Hall - if anyone you know likes reading about ghosts, this is the present to get them. It covers the country county by county too, so whereever they live there will be somewhere - and something? - they recognise.

The cover is absolutely amazing too! x
