This is a brilliant book- be the talk of all your friends- be sure to leave it lying on the coffee table when the in laws come to visit!. the photos are graphic- but because the photos are in black and white it takes the edge off the gore- if like me you are fasinated by death but don't do the blood stuff- this is for you.64

Wonderful Insight
I've been a fan of Adrian Tomine for some time now and love his wonderful way of capturing the smallest, most insignificant moments in life so beautifully.<br /><br />This book contains many old and early strips, all with a similar theme of first loves, awkward crushes, vinyl collecting obsessives and the like. In addition to this, we also get to see a whole load of Tomines 'corporate' work (eurgh, thats probably the wrong word for it) - CD covers, posters, advert, magazine work and a small section at the back with funny pieces from his actual sketchbook.<br /><br />A perfect book for fans of underground comics, people who fall in love in a bookshop, make ill advised mixtapes, trawl through racks of vinyl and love The Pixies. Go buy it now.68

A museum in a book!
Been enjoying the nostalgia of TV's"I love the 1970's/80's". This is the early twentieth century equivilant. A well put together photographic/facsimilie record of everyday life in the years between 1910 and 1920. The written commentary is minimalist, but the clear pictures of games, magazines, posters, foodstuffs, adverts and collectibles speak volumes. You can spend hours reading the articles and adverts on the front pages of a 1911 edition of woman's weekly, or an advert extohling the virtues of an oxo trench kit. Learn which songs were popular, what sweets and chocolates made their mark on society, how high hemlines rose in 10 years. This is truly a novel catalogue of social history: excellent and accurate research for those trying to discover life in the period; a nostalgic journey for those who have lived through it.79

A good book but others are better
This is a good book, containing lots of information on techniques, organising your supplies and the technical computer side of scrapbooking e.g. printers, scanners. But if you are looking more for layout ideas and topics to scrapbook, i recommend Scrapbooking Everyday Moments or Scrapbooking Family and Friends (both by Creating Keepsakes). This is a good book to buy but you should buy the other two first.
